Global East Asia Korea is a scholarship summer study abroad program administered by the USC East Asian Studies Center. Made possible by a generous grant from the Freeman Foundation, the program provides a small group of USC undergraduate students the opportunity to study abroad in Seoul, Korea with all major expenses covered: roundtrip international airfare from LAX, basic housing and meals, travel within Korea, and local transportation and entrance fees related to the course.
This year, fourteen students were chosen through a competitive application process to participate in the program, which is based at Ewha Womans University. While abroad, they will take “Korean Cinemascapes” (EASC 360 Global East Asia) taught by Youngmin Choe, USC Assistant Professor of East Asian Languages and Cultures. The students will also travel extensively throughout Korea for a unique, intensive experience, shared through this blog.
Global East Asia is also offered in China and Japan. For more information, please visit the website: http://dornsife-blogs.usc.edu/eascenter/gea/
